TOMPKINS CORTLAND NURSING PROGRAM PERSONAL STATEMENTThe Tompkins Cortland Community College nursing program contains several essential elements that are necessary in order for students to progress into the role of professional registered nurses. In order to foster this professional development, TC3 nursing students are engaged in rigorous academic coursework and are expected to adhere to strict deadline requirements and procedures. Students will interact with, and care physically and emotionally for, both healthy and ill clients in a variety of settings beginning in the first semester of the program. These clients come from a variety of cultural, religious, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds, and nurses are expected to care for them without judgment or discrimination. Through the use of hands-on technical skills and the art of making caring connections with clients, students are expected to become increasingly independent in achieving their goal of becoming a registered nurse. Tell us a little bit about yourself, what experiences and strengths you bring to the program, and how you feel they will help you in your individual journey to becoming a nurse. Please provide a concise submission containing no more than 300 words. Use complete sentences in your answers. You will be prompted to upload documents at the end of the application. Please upload your personal statement then upload the other needed documents.
