ENGL208 - Intro to Native American Literature
Exposes students to the body of English-language literature arising from the native cultures indigenous to the contiguous United States. Works studied range in time from before the Revolutionary War to the present; range in origin from the Iroquois/Creek confederacies of the East to the Athabascan cultures of the West; range in genre from oral literature to the novel; and range in form from text to film. ENGL 208 fulfills the SUNY General Education Humanities requirement. Prerequisites: ENGL 102; RDNG 116 if required by placement testing. 3 Cr. (3 Lec.)
