ENGL237 - Journalism
This course introduces students to current theory and practice with an emphasis on the development of writing competencies in the major journalistic modes. Objectivity, fairness, balance, ethics, and publication law are discussed. Writing assignments include news, sports, profiles, features, and editorials. Prerequisites: ENGL 101; MATH 090 if required by placement testing; prior completion or concurrent enrollment in RDNG 116 if required by placement testing. 3 Cr. (3 Lec.) Occasionally.
