WGST225 - Women & Gender Studies Internship

The field placement component or the course requires students to spend eight hours per week in first-hand experience with a specific public, private, social service, cultural, legal, health, government, or educational agency concerned with the situation of women in society. The 120 hours of field work allows the student an opportunity to experience the relationship of theory to practice, and to begin to develop an understanding of how s/he can incorporate this experience into her/his own career and personal objectives. The field experience is supplemented by five conference hours. Initial identification of placement take place after completion of three prerequisite Women and Gender Studies courses in consultation with the student's advisor.
