GEOL125 - Biology and Earth Science for Teachers

Cross-listed as BIOL 125 This course is required for students intending to pursue a degree program in childhood/early childhood education but it may be of interest to others who do not plan to major specifically in science or a related field. Basic concepts in earth science and biology are covered with an emphasis on topics necessary for informed decision making in our modern society. The intent of the instructor is to provide students with the knowledge necessary to function as an informed parent, citizen, and perhaps teacher in a world very much affected by human activity. BIOL/GEOL 125 fulfills the SUNY General Education Natural Sciences requirement. Prerequisites: MATH 090 if required by placement testing; prior completion or concurrent enrollment in RDNG 116 and ENGL 100 if required by placement testing. 4 Cr. (3 Lec., 3 Lab.) Fall and spring semesters.
