MUSI101/Lecture/ME50 - Music Appreciation | Credits 3.00
This course is designed to help students develop their understanding of music as a language of human expression. The melodic, rhythmic, harmonic form, and historical significance of selected pieces are examined. Students are introduced to a wide variety of music from primitive to modern times and develop the skill to recognize patterns, forms, and styles found in music. MUSI 101 fulfills the SUNY General Education requirement in the Arts. Prerequisite: RDNG 099 if required by placement testing. 3 Cr. (3 Lec.)
